Where your book is sold

When your book is published with us, it is made available to readers through the same channels used by independent and traditional publishers. That includes the major booksellers in the US, UK, Europe and Australia, including Amazon. You will also have a dedicated sales page on the Wordzworth website that you can link to and share. Below, we explain how that works in practice and what it means for visibility and availability.
Ingram
Your book is distributed through Ingram's global network. Ingram is one of the largest book wholesalers in the world, supplying online retailers, bookstores and libraries across the US, UK, Europe and Australia. This is the backbone of modern print on demand publishing.
Through Ingram, your book data and printing information are made available to major retailers including Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, Booktopia, Fishpond, Chapters, Indigo and Amazon. It is also supplied to trade wholesalers such as Gardners in the UK, who in turn supply independent bookstores and libraries. Retailers decide for themselves whether to list a title and how to display delivery times or stock messages. What we focus on is making sure your files, pricing and metadata are correctly set up so your book can flow smoothly through this system.
Amazon
Ingram pushes your book out to Amazon in exactly the same way as other retailers. However, Amazon customers have become accustomed to seeing books with Prime or next day delivery. When a print on demand title is supplied only through Ingram, Amazon may show longer delivery estimates or briefly display an out of stock message while the book is printed and routed through standard trade supply.
Amazon also manufactures books within its own network through Amazon KDP. When a book is prepared separately to Amazon's specifications and listed there in addition to Ingram, Amazon can print it within its own system and display faster dispatch times and Prime eligibility where applicable. We handle this dual setup for compatible formats, preparing separate files to each platform's specifications and managing both listings together. This gives you the reach of the Ingram global network alongside the stronger availability messaging Amazon customers expect.
Some formats, such as certain hardbacks, dust jackets or specific trim sizes, are not supported by Amazon KDP. In those cases the book is supplied to Amazon through Ingram only, which still makes it fully orderable, but delivery times reflect standard trade supply rather than Amazon managed fulfilment.
Wordzworth Website
As soon as your book is live, it is given its own dedicated sales page on the Wordzworth website. This page shows your cover, available formats such as paperback or hardback, a clear buy button, your book description and your author biography, so readers can see everything in one place. We send you the direct link to share however you like, which can be especially helpful in the early stages while other retailer listings are settling.
Your Website
If you have your own website, it can be a natural place to direct readers. Most authors either link to retailer listings such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble, or link directly to their Wordzworth sales page so we can handle the order processing and fulfilment. You can sell copies yourself if you prefer, but that means taking payments, holding stock and arranging delivery, so for many authors it is simpler to link out to an existing sales page rather than build and manage their own ordering system.
Local Stores
There are two straightforward ways to place your book in local stores. The simplest is through normal trade ordering. Because your ISBN is listed in the Ingram catalogues, bookstores can usually order your book through their regular supplier, such as Gardners, in exactly the same way they order any other title. If a shop does not use a book trade supplier, for example a café, gift shop or visitor centre, you can supply copies directly yourself. In that case you purchase author copies at cost price and agree directly with the retailer how they will display and sell them, keeping an agreed margin and paying you the balance when copies sell.
Publishing today does not mean boxes of books sitting in a warehouse. It means your title is entered into the same trade systems used across the industry, making it orderable worldwide while you keep full control of your work. If you ever have questions about where your book appears or how availability works, just ask. We are always happy to explain the details and guide you through it.
